ISL has a strong focus on health and safety best practice. Our health and safety culture is led internally by employees and proactive reporting is encouraged to ensure accidents are prevented if at all possible.
Working with ACC.
Independent Stevedoring was a pilot user of ACC's Staying Safe at Work programme. The programme - a two and a half hour interactive workshop - takes a holistic approach to safety and specifically addresses safe physical techniques and high-risk factors for injury such as fatigue.
ISL has also developed an in-house training module addressing safe operational procedures to prevent workplace injuries. It includes a mock-up training station for demonstrating safe container lashing.
