Independent Stevedoring Limited (ISL) was established in Tauranga 13 years ago, founded on the principles of social responsibility, good staff remuneration, a strong safety focus and trust.

These principles have direct benefits for our customers.  We can offer stability, reliability and the flexibility to get your job done when you need it and to the highest quality.

Independent Stevedoring has a unique structure, with an associate equipment company that has our employees as shareholders.  Independent Gear Limited (IGL) gives our staff real ownership of the business and rewards them for growth.  IGL owns stevedoring gear such as container spreaders, lifting trays, reel clamps, forkhoists and excavators.

Independent Stevedoring has also applied many of its successful processes to The Loading Company (TLC) in Wellington, a stevedoring company owned in partnership with Quadrant Pacific Limited.

ISL's management team shares more than 100 years' experience in the industry.  Our simple, hands-on corporate structure allows us to respond quickly to challenges and provide you with innovative, tailored solutions.
